“The St. Louis Tap Festival’s ALL THAT TAP showcase brings together the who’s who of the tap world for an annual awe-inspiring performance.” – Dance.com, 2009
A sophisticated mix of favorite artists and new faces, old masters and rising stars, in styles from polished jazz to hard-edged hip-hop—that’s ALL THAT TAP, the crowning glory of the 19th annual St. Louis Tap Festival. This year’s master performers include Dr. Jeni LeGon, who counts among her mentors Fats Waller and Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, and Broadway veteran Gene GeBauer, who’s danced for Gower Champion and Alvin Ailey. Returning to St. Louis is arguably the greatest female tap dancer around today, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards. As Dance Spirit magazine says, “She performs with grace, elegance, precision and speed—not to mention that she can hit as hard as any of the guys!” Speaking of guys, there’s Max Pollak from Vienna, Austria, who is the first person to merge American rhythm tap with authentic Afro-Cuban music and dance. There are “the Israeli Hoofers,” Avi Miller and Ofer Ben. And so many more! Tap truly embraces the world—join us for a copasetic celebration!
